Climb the chimney, son.

Up and at 'em

Got to the trail head at 4:40 AM to do my first sunrise hike. Hiking in the dark was great and fun except for the couple behind me talking the say up. Got to the top in little less than 2 hours. When I got to the top is was fogged in so bad you could not see farther than 100 feet! Kind of a bummer but was glad to do it oh and beat all the crowds.

There were 4 cars in the lot in the early hours and then probably 200 cars by 10:40 AM when I came down. Tripoli road, which is not open during the winter, was tricky in the middle of the night with big potholes. Walking at night changes the focus on just the next few steps in front of you which makes it about the climb. When it was getting a little light outside is when I hit rock face trail at a steep side to side angle and with some leaves and rain made it a bit tricky. Overall the hike was a moderate steady climb with little to know sharp inclines. There were only 5 people on the top so that was nice.

Over to East peak

Did not stay long without a view and headed over to East Osceola. Nice hike down to the col and back up. The biggest thing about this part is the "Chimney" which is about a 50 feet straight up and down hands and feet climb. I walked around it going down over to east on the left side but decided to do it on the way back as going up is easier. There was one rock in the col area that provided a little bit of views as the fog cleared up but the other viewing areas were not clear. The top of East is just a cairn and surrounded by trees.
